 Officials Needed for the 2010 Season

The NFLOA is looking for new officials for the upcoming 2010 season. The candidate will be expected to attend candidates classes beginning in January. If you are interested in becoming an official, please click on the application link and follow the instructions.

Binkowski Receives 2009 Szydlowski Award

Mike Binkowski (left) received the 2009 Matt Szydlowski Award from Vice President Joe Jastrzemski (right) at our banquet on Sunday. Matt Szydlowski was one of the founders of the NFLOA. His tireless dedication proved to be instrumental in developing the high standards of our association. In an effort to remember our mentor, the organization awards the Matt Szydlowski Award to a member of our organization. The award promotes professionalism, dedication and a positive attitude towards lacrosse.

Marcussen Receives 2009 Perry Award

The 2009 Michael Perry Memorial Award was present to Jon Marcussen (above right). Mike Binkowski (left) accepts the award from John Drobits (right) on Jon's behalf as he was unable to attend our banquet. The Perry Award  is given out annually in honor of our friend and fellow official Mike Perry who was killed in a car accident in Toledo, Ohio on October 27, 2002 after a football game he had just officiated The award is given out to the most “outstanding up and coming” official with five years or less experience. The mentors within our organization vote on it.

Gross Makes World Games as Top Four Ref

US Lacrosse announces that 10 referees and five alternates were named to the U.S. delegation to officiate at the 2010 FIL World Championship. Congratulations to our own Rob Gross for making the 2010 US team and will be officiating at the 2010 World Games that will be held next summer in Manchester, England.

John "Wes" Patterson Sportsmanship Award Announced

The NFLOA is pleased to announce the 2009 John "Wes" Patterson Awards. Through this award it is the intention of the Niagara Frontier Lacrosse Officials Association to bring awareness to, and reward the sportsman-like behavior of players, coaches, and all those affiliated with each school participating at the Varsity, Junior Varsity and Modified Levels of lacrosse. This year's winners are at the varsity level - Clarence High School; junior varsity level - Williamsville North High School and at the modified level - Hamburg High School.

 2009 Playoff's at Canisius College

The 2009 Section 6 playoff's were a great success and the crews did a great job throughout the evening. It was great to see so many of our members out at the games. Thanks to the guys working the games and to all of you who came out. Great job!
